The Vineyards of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands -
In this special area of the West Coast a willing host of winemakers and viticulturalists are succeeding in the development of wines that reflect the region’s unmistakeable character. Protected from the open ocean in the lee of the largest Pacific coastal island in the Americas, this temperate terroir is well-suited to grow distinctive cool climate grapes and to produce distinguished varieties of wines and ciders (not to overlook the excellence of locally crafted ales and meads). In fact the beauty of the area is matched by the bounty of its products and styles. A stunningly rich array of vegetables, fruits, seafoods, meats, poultry, mushrooms and herbs are the ambrosias that match with these nectars - for chefs and artisans to create their own magic.

West Coast life - It’s a symphony in which the stage is a coastline that swirls rhythmically, valleys and hills that undulate up and down like the notes in the score. The sun, the breeze, the stars and the rain provide the colour and emotions of the seasons. And there’s a role for you to play among the characters on the stage. Here’s some background to your part.

Another beautiful sunset dances off the calm summer waters of the B.C. Coast.
